Rotorua residents living around Springfield are being encouraged to open their cupboards and donate to the appeal during the can drive, which will be in the suburb on Tuesday, November 27. Volunteers will go door-to-door asking residents to donate non-perishable food items for the appeal. Food collected will go to the Salvation Army foodbank and will also be used for 120 Christmas hampers the Salvation Army will be giving out. Those taking part and anyone else wanting to volunteer need to meet in the carpark at Otonga School just before 6pm on Tuesday. The can drive is expected to finish about 8pm.
