FILE PICTURE: Argentina are to play the Black Sticks in Tauranga.

An already bumper sporting weekend in Tauranga over Easter just got bigger with confirmation the city will host a test-match double-header between the Black Sticks women and international glamour side Argentina.

The Black Sticks women take on Argentina, who won bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, on Good Friday (April 2) at 2pm and Easter Saturday at 1pm at the Tauranga Hockey Centre.

Tauranga has hosted the national men's team in tests against Japan, Great Britain and The Netherlands in recent years but Easter's series will be the first time the Black Sticks women have played a full international here.

Hamilton hosts the opening two tests of the series on March 30 and 31.
