Your View: What do you think of the gender pay gap? (+poll)

Statistics provided by the StatisticsNZ Quarterly Employment Survey show that the average hourly wage for men is $29.09, while women earn only $25.15 per hour.

That's a difference of nearly 12%.

In 2012 only 9.3 per cent of NZX-listed companies had women directors.

What do you think of the gender pay gap?

Why is it that women struggle to meet corporate heights?

Do you think having babies and taking time out has something to do with it?

Why do you think New Zealand is not presenting an inspiring picture for ambitious women?

Let us know your thoughts, leave a comment below, and vote in the poll.
