Your View on the 'holiday surcharge' (+poll)

Will your local cafe or bar be charging more on the next public holiday?
Will your local cafe or bar be charging more on the next public holiday? File

It is the scourge of public holidays in New Zealand - and plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes are still adding a 'holiday surcharge' of 10 to 20 per cent to their bills.

Before Waitangi Day, we'd like to know from you what you think.

Do you feel ripped off if you are asked to pay extra when dining out on a public holiday, or do you have no problem with it?

Tell us what you think, vote in the poll, and leave your comments below.

Also, if you'd like to promote establishments that are willing to provide goods and services at normal prices, feel free to do so.
