Woman struck by car at busy intersection

File

An elderly woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a car at a busy Tauranga intersection.

Police and St John Ambulance staff were called to the intersection of Cameron Rd and Sixteenth Ave about 1.50pm yesterday.

Acting Sergeant Andrew Crockett said the woman fell to the ground after she was struck by the car and ambulance staff took her to Tauranga Hospital as a precautionary measure.

"The information from members of the public has been very helpful," Mr Crockett said.
