MAUI WAIPARA PINOT GRIS 2011, $14

Made by the talented team at Tiki Wines, this is a cracker of a wine, chock full of poached pear and quince-like goodness stitched together with strudel spices and wrapped up in a rich, juicy, luxuriously oily texture. It has great persistence of flavour and it's an absolute winner with smoked chicken, apple and walnut salad.

LOVE HONEY SWEET MANUKA HONEY WINE, $28

This is a modern version of the medieval fertility potion known as honeymead and it's seriously tasty. It smells like walking into a honey factory with beeswax and subtle spices on the nose.

In the mouth, however, it is surprisingly crisp, tangy and almost has a citrus-like finish amongst all that luxurious honey. For where to buy in your area visit

SAINT CLAIR PREMIUM MARLBOROUGH SAUVIGNON BLANC 2012, $17

Just stunning stuff from one of Marlborough's absolute top producers. If you're after an explosion of passionfruit, pea pods, fresh basil, pineapple, gorgeous grassy notes and lethally lipsmacking limey layers of flavour then this is it. It's not just a sauvignon, it's a statement piece. www.saintclair.co.nz
