Western Bay motorists warned of road works

Motorists travelling around the Western Bay need to be aware of a number of road works currently taking place around the region.

Work to upgrade Marine Parade in Mount Maunganui between Commons Ave and Pacific Ave is continuing this week.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by next month.

Road closures will be in place from time to time with traffic being detoured along Maunganui Rd.

Tauranga City Council warns motorists to expect delays.

Work to upgrade the section of Route K between the toll plaza and the cutting is due to begin today.

The work is expected to take about three weeks and temporary speed limits will be in place.

Work to reseal Cameron Road between Hamilton St and Chapel St in Tauranga is due to start today.

The work will be done between 9am and 3pm today and tomorrow, and also between 6pm and 6am today, tomorrow and Thursday nights.

Tidy up work will be done on Friday.

Tauranga City Council advised motorists to use an alternative route where possible and take care.
