Trade the bikini for a one-piece swimming suit and a pair of goggles this weekend because the Bridge to Bridge Harbour Swim and Round the Mount Swim are back.

Both events, which have been going for well over 25 years, see the fittest swimmers battle it out in the ocean for first place.

The Bridge to Bridge Harbour Swim kicks off on Saturday with a briefing at 1.15pm, and the race starting at 2pm. The 1500m swim goes from the Matapihi Rail Bridge to the Tauranga Harbour Bridge.

The Bridge to Bridge is tide dependent so swimmers will be swimming the same way as the tide. Entry fee is $15 with massive cash prizes for the first male and female winner.

The Round the Mount Swim is on Sunday Briefing is at 7am at the Mount Lifeguard Service. Swimmers hit the water at 8am at the Salisbury Wharf end of Pilot Bay and head out around the Mount on a marked course.

The 4km swim costs $35 to enter with a late fee of $10 after Friday 14, 5pm.

Entry forms for both events can be downloaded at www.mountlifeguards.co.nz.
