Uprising was such a success organisers say they plan to work closely with other event organisers to run a similar event again.

The musical event was held at Arawa Park to entertain Te Matatini National Kapa Haka Festival 2013 goers after the cultural event finished on Saturday night.

Organiser, local entertainer and concert promoter Russell Harrison said Uprising was a real blast with about 1100 people taking in the concert featuring DJ Sir-Vere, Ardijah and 1814.

"It was wonderful. Most who attended were from Matatini. There was a full moon and the stars were with us. 1814 and Ardijah were onsong," he said.

Those who attended were in great spirits too, Mr Harrison said.

"Not only was everyone really happy, the manner they conducted themselves in was awesome. "

Similar events are sure to be on the calendar in the future, he said.

"I'm confident Uprising will be back ... It was a huge success."
