TV outage planned for the Bay

TVNZ digital services on the Freeview terrestrial platform will not be available in the early hours of Friday morning when routine maintenance is carried out on the Te Aroha transmitter site.

TV ONE, TV2, TV ONE plus 1 and Channel U will be unavailable for up to five hours between 1.00am and 6.00am on Friday 2 November 2012. ( Freeview satellite services are not affected.)

The Te Aroha site serves a population of 511,839. It provides a digital terrestrial television service to Hamilton and the Waikato area and also, via repeaters, to Rotorua, Taupo, Tauranga and the Northern Bay of Plenty area. 

The work will be carried out by Kordia.
