Truck tears down powerline
A truck contacted power lines crossing Grange Road in Tauranga this morning tearing the lines down and snapping a power pole.
Powerco Network Operations Manager Phil Marsh said the incident was reported around 9am and it appears the truck has continued on.
Firefighters and PowerCo staff were called to the scene.
Mr Marsh said the lines were supplying power to one property and had been made safe.
An estimation of how long permanent repairs will take has yet to be completed.
