Fatal truck crash south of Te Puke

Updated: 12.45pm:

A person has died in a truck accident south of Te Puke.

It is understood the person had been operating a fertiliser truck at a private property on Te Matai Rd when the truck rolled about 11.50am.

Police are at the scene and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (formerly Department of Labour) is on its way.

Earlier:

12.06pm: Police and St John ambulances are on their way to a rolled truck south of Te Puke.

Reports of the truck rolling near Rangiuru Rd came in about 10 minutes ago and emergency services were yet to arrive, a police northern communications spokesman said.

12pm:

Emergency services are responding to reports that a truck has rolled on Te Matai Rd.
