Top job for Tauranga firefighter
Tauranga Fire Chief Ron Devlin has been promoted to the rank of Assistant National Commander.
Mr Devlin has been Tauranga's fire chief for 14 years and Bay of Plenty Coast area manager for the past three years.
His new role will see him oversee the Fire Service's region 2, which covers the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Gisborne.
He takes over from Russell Wood who resigned in November.
Mr Devlin said he was looking forward to his new position.
