Annemarie Quill: Think less and do more

What's the secret to living longer? I was pleased to learn that it involves lots of socialising, wine, chocolate and sex - as well, of course, as the more predictable (and boring) eating fruit, exercising and talking to the dog.

Perhaps the real key is not stressing about it too much. I spoke to my aunty in England this morning, who's nearing 90.

She has never had a lifecoach, dieted or gone to a gym. She lived through the Liverpool Blitz in the war, worked from 16 and still scrubs her steps every Friday.

She has lard butties but there is not an ounce of fat on her, and has been to the doctor only a handful of times in her life, unlike the hypochondriac generation of today who can't brush their teeth without consulting a homeopath.
