Thefts and boat burglaries at Pilot Bay
Mt Maunganui Police are appealing to the public for any information in relation to a number of thefts and boat burglaries in the Pilot Bay area over the past week.
Stolen property from two Pilot Bay boats was recovered in an aluminium dingy which sunk near Sulphur Point on Sunday morning.
It is believed the dingy was also been stolen from the area of Salisbury Wharf over the weekend.
Police are asking people to report any suspicious activity in the area immediately and boat owners should check their moorings and notify police of any burglaries or thefts.
