Teens seen with BB guns near school sparks police callout

Police were called to Pillans Point School after reports of teenagers with BB guns on the school grounds.

Tauranga police Senior Sergeant Carl Purcell said two teenagers with BB guns went through the school and into a house that backed onto the school grounds about 1pm.

"They were just mucking around with BB guns out by the school," he said. "They weren't shooting at people at the school."

Mr Purcell said police spoke to the teenagers and gave them both warnings.
