Tauranga lawyer best in New Zealand
Tauranga lawyer Kate Barry-Piceno has been named New Zealand's barrister of the year.
Ms Barry-Piceno received the premier award yesterday as outstanding lawyers and law firms were recognised for service to their clients, staff, and communities at the 2012 New Zealand Law Awards.
She also won the Resource Management and Environment Award.
Tauranga was well represented at the awards, as Ronayne Hollister - Jones Lellman solicitors were a finalist in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution category and first runner up in the specialist Family Law category.
More than 300 top lawyers and business leadersgathered in Auckland for the event, which celebrated the lawyers and law firms who, across a range of categories, had been voted as providing the best service over the past year.
Now in its eighth year, the Law Awards are the highlight of the New Zealand legal calendar.
More than 2000 clients, ranging from individuals to many of New Zealand's biggest companies, nominated, voted and rated their lawyers.
