Taupo freeskier Rose Battersby crashes at X Games in Aspen

Taupo freeskier Rose Battersby is in a Denver hospital recovering from a lumbar spine fracture she suffered when she crashed during a warm up session at the Winter X Games in Aspen.
The 20-year-old is currently in a Denver hospital suffering a fractured vertebrae.
Battersby's dad Philip Battersby told The Daily Post he hadn't yet spoken with Rose but was in contact with friends at her side and her coach.
The X Games Aspen 2013 website states Battersby crashed during a warm up session and was taken to a Denver hospital for treatment after suffering a lumbar spine fracture.
The website also states the accident was one of two by women named Battersby at the Winter X Games 2013 yesterday. Ashley Battersby, no relation, crashed on a switch 900 on the final jump of her third run injuring her leg, delaying the Jeep Ski Slopestyle Women's final, the X Games website states.
At 7.13am today (NZ Time) Rose Battersby tweeted "Feel the fear but do it anyway ...." with an Instagram photo of some ski slopes. A fellow Twitter user replied at 9.55am today (NZ Time) to Battersby's message saying "saw the aftermath of your crash. wishing you the best and full recovery. You're a strong, inspiring girl."
