With a court appearance and recent debate with police, you could be forgiven for thinking Tiki Taane might choose to avoid the limelight these days.

But the Papamoa-based music artist is lending his voice for the animals without one in a campaign lead by animal advocates Paw Justice.

Taane, a multi-platinum award winning artist, teamed up with Paw Justice to mark their two-year anniversary yesterday.

Since their launch, Paw Justice strategically positioned themselves as an organisation that youth of New Zealand, as well as all other generations, listen to. The intentional collaboration with Taane, is another example of Paw Justice's commitment to educating NZ's youth on their responsibilities for animal welfare, Paw Justice founder Craig Dunn said.

The Paw Justice team were inspired by Taane's track Starship Lullaby and his commitment to help the children at Starship Hospital so approached Taane about working on a collaboration to do the same for animals.

The Paw Justice team want to take the power of music to positively influence and educate people by inviting people to contribute to the lyrics of the new song, which will be performed by Taane.

Mr Dunn said: "This will be people speaking to people, from their hearts, about their feelings on animal abuse."
