Suspicious fire in Mount apartment
A suspicious fire broke out in a two-storey apartment block in Mount Maunganui today.
Mount Maunganui Fire Service station officer Terry Mills said the 111 call came in at 12.30am and on arrival the fire crew found a mattress in the upper level of one of the 6-7 apartments well ablaze.
Mr Mills said the fire in partly furnished apartment was contained to the bedroom.
Detectives are investigating.
