Success for Bay surfers
Mount Maunganui surfer Matt Hansen is charging an end section on his way to winning his first heat of the Under 16 Boys Division on day one of the 2012 National Scholastic Surfing Championships.
The event is being held at Fitzroy Beach, New Plymouth from the 1st - 5th of October 2012.
Hansen was one of eight Bay of Plenty surfers to progress through to the second round after today's action.
The Bay of Plenty Team was the most successful of the day with all competing surfers progressing through to the second round of their respective divisions.
