Stage set for Steiner fair
Tauranga Rudolf Steiner School will hold its annual advent fair and open day on Sunday.
The popular event is the school's major fundraiser and a real highlight of the year with activities, storytelling, music and craft embracing the advent theme in a friendly and relaxed family atmosphere.
The fair provides an exciting and interesting collection of stalls and activities for all ages in a beautiful, semi-rural setting.
The fair will be a great place to start (or continue) Christmas shopping with a variety of stalls with beautiful hand-made toys and crafts, home-made produce, garden plants, books and more.
There are also lunch choices with the lunch bar, hangi, sausage sizzle, falafels, waffles, fresh squeezed juice and banana ice creams.
Children can try their luck at hoop the troll, hammer drive and catch the rat, experience a daring flying fox ride and more.
New features this year include the impossible bike, coconut shy, archery and sock wrestling and the water slide is returning by popular demand.
Little ones can visit the pirate ship, enjoy an enchanting puppet show, buy treasures from the magical children's shop or treats in the children's café.
The fair doubles as an open day for the school giving families the opportunity to learn more with a display of students' work and teachers available for those with questions about the special character of Waldorf education.
Gates open at 10am, and there's plenty of parking in the school. Gold coin entry.
The school is at R364 Welcome Bay Road, Tauranga.
