Only days after receiving a cheque for four thousand dollars from Port of Tauranga for the purchase of a new therapy horse, Tauranga RDA is to be gifted money for another new horse by the Hillsdene Charitable Trust

Tauranga RDA will be receiving a cheque for four thousand dollars this Christmas from Hillsdene Charitable Trust so that the organization is able to purchase its next four legged team member. Tauranga RDA has a horse on trial at the moment that they hope will make a suitable therapy horse.

"I know that Tauranga RDA is looking for four new horses due to expanding their programs and some horses retiring, and without their full team, I'd hate the thought that the organisation may have to reduce the number of riders they support.", said Hillsdene trustee Tom Roper.

"The Hillsdene trustees were really keen to get on board and buy a new therapy horse for Tauranga RDA. I look forward to meeting the chosen horse and can't wait to see it in action with disabled riders."

Tauranga RDA hopes that other organisations and individuals may be able to follow in the footsteps of the Hillsdene Charitable Trust and Port of Tauranga and support the organisation to purchase two more therapy horses.

"We are just blown away by the generosity of this community", said Tauranga RDA CEO Kat Macmillan.

"First Port of Tauranga, now Hillsdene Charitable Trust, we are very lucky indeed and can't wait to get the new horses through their training so that they can start their careers as therapy horses. We are now wondering if anyone else may step forward this Christmas and buy us another horse!"
