Second anniversary of Psa
Today is the second anniversary of the discovery of Psa-V in New Zealand.
The vine killing disease was first identified on a gold kiwifruit orchard in Te Puke in the Bay of Plenty.
A recent economic impact report estimated Psa could cost the industry up to eight hundred and fifty million dollars in the next 15 years.
As of last Friday, one thousand seven hundred and fifty one orchards have been identified with Psa-V, or around 61 percent of New Zealand's kiwifruit hectares.
