Motorists could expect to be breath-tested anytime.

Police are urging drivers to take care on Western Bay roads over Waitangi weekend.

Senior Sergeant Ian Campion said motorists could expect to be breath-tested anytime, anywhere and receive a fine and demerit points if caught travelling at more than 4km/h over the speed limit.

He reminded drivers to slow down, comply with advisory speed signs on bends and apply the four-second rule when following traffic in wet weather.
