Police operation in Welcome Bay
Police swooped in on a Welcome Bay neighbourhood early this morning.
About three police cars, a police van and at least six police officers were seen on Meander Dr and nearby streets about 7.30am.
A Bay of Plenty Times reader, who called the news line 0800 253 253, said she saw several police cars on Victory St, Osprey Dr and Meander Dr.
A police spokesperson confirmed there was an operation underway and that CIB and AOS teams were involved, but would not release any more details at this stage.
