Police nab two burglars
Good old fashioned police work saw two burglars nabbed last night.
Tauranga police Senior Sergeant Cam Anderson said police received reports of a burglary on Aerodrome Rd, Mount Maunganui about 11pm yesterday.
"A person living at the premises heard some noises and gave us a call. We arrested one person on the beach down by Omanu," he said.
A 29-year-old Papamoa man is due to appear in Tauranga District Court on December 13.
Mr Anderson said an 18-year-old Whakamarama man was also caught about 1.45am after he stole items from a building on Hamilton St.
"He was caught after reaching through a window and stealing some items from a council building. I suspect alcohol was a factor," he said.
