Police have released security footage of one of the persons they want to speak to following a burglary and the theft of more than 50 new cellphones from Bayfair Shopping Centre.

Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier said police last night located the blue Nissan Primera used in the raid. It was found in Te Ara Place, Papamoa.

The car was stolen from a parking lot, outside a business on the Te Atatu Peninsula in West Auckland on Sunday.

"Mount Maunganui police are now wanting to speak with the person shown in the photos attached," Mr Brazier said.

"He has what appears to be a mark or tattoo on the left side of his face."

If anyone recognises the man, who can be seen shielding his face in one of the clips and is wearing a hat and sunglasses, they are asked to contact Mount Maunganui police on (07) 575 3143, or information can be left anonymously via Crime Stoppers 0800 555 111.
