Police Beat: Police seek would-be burglars

A man witnessed two men breaking into his garage and now police are seeking information of the offenders.

Hamilton Police need witnesses to an attempted burglary about 2.30pm on Wednesday, January 23.

The victim was at his home on Halberg Cres, Hamilton, when he heard a disturbance in his garage. He went to investigate and was confronted by two men.

There was a brief struggle outside the garage before the pair ran off toward the alleyway linking Halberg Cres and Tramway Rd.

The alleged offenders were described as male Maori aged between 20 and 30. One is about five feet and three inches tall, of muscular build with small dreadlocks and was wearing a white singlet and army boots. The other is six feet tall with shoulder length hair and was wearing a black T-shirt and black track pants.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen the two men in the area at the time.
