NZTA to host a public meeting

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) is holding a community information evening to advise Pahoia residents of their plans to improve safety at the State Highway 2, Pahoia and Esdaile Rd intersection.

The information evening will be held on Wednesday, October 24 from 4-6pm at the Pahoia School Community Hall on Esdaile Rd.

Local residents and the community are invited to drop in during this time to speak to and ask questions of project staff on the proposed changes to the intersection.

The NZTA's Bay of Plenty state highways manager, Brett Gliddon said the Pahoia and Esdaile Rd intersection upgrade will improve road safety for all road users and reduce the risk to drivers when turning on and off SH2.

The proposed solutions discussed will be to install turning bays for vehicles turning off the state highway on to either Pahoia or Esdaile Rds, and improve visibility for drivers turning out of these roads.

Mr Gliddon says this proposed project will improve safety for state highway traffic, local residents and parents dropping their children off to school on Esdaile Rd.
