Tauranga's water supply is well within capacity despite there being minimum rainfall this summer.

Tauranga City Council water supply manager Peter Bahrs told councillors at a Projects and Monitoring Committee meeting on Monday, "We're in a good space.

There's no need for water restrictions.

"Demand for water is still below the peak amount of 450 litres per person, per day, despite 13 per cent more water being consumed this January, compared to January 2012.
