Tauranga Court House. File.

Bail has been refused for a Tauranga man jointly charged with two attempted murders following separate shooting incidents. In Tauranga District Court yesterday, Judge Robert Wolff declined an application to bail Steven Dennis Poole, 44, of Bayfair.

The attempted murder charges relate to incidents in Hamilton and Tauranga in May and July, involving a man and a woman whose identities have been suppressed due to police safety concerns.

Shots were fired into a Tauranga house and a man inside suffered head injuries.

Poole was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on November 14.

He has also been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
