Missing woman seen in Tauranga

Police have extended their search for missing Auckland woman Rae Portman to the Bay of Plenty.

She was reported miss ing on July 2 and has not been seen since June 20.

Counties Manukau Police have received information that the 33-year-old was seen in Waihi and Tauranga in June.

The information was received through the 0800 RAEPORTMAN hotline.

Ms Portman's mother reported her missing to police on July 2.

She had driven from Hamilton to Auckland on June 20 and visited friends in Glen Innes in East Auckland and Papakura in South Auckland before she was last seen at the motel.

Detective Inspector Mark Gutry said police had spoken to most of the people known to have seen Ms Portman that day.

"The last place we know she was seen was at the motel. We've been there and found her belongings,'' he said.

"But after we know she left the motel, we just don't know where she went. She failed to check out.''
