Te Arawa Karaitiana and his partner Carli Pugh were reported missing after not being heard from in a week but were found fit and well in Whakatane.

A couple missing for more than a week had simply let time get away from them.

Police had been looking for 20-year-old Te Arawa Karaitiana and his partner, 27-year-old Carli Pugh who were last seen in Whakatane on November 4.

The pair were found fit and well in Whakatane yesterday and stated they had lost track of the days.

Police were yesterday looking for the couple who were last seen when they left Carli's grandfather's Whakatane home.

It was believed they were headied back to their home in Auckland but they never arrived.
