Men sought after assault in Tauranga

File

Tauranga police are seeking information about a group of men in relation to an assault this morning.

At around 3am, a 25 year old male was assaulted by 3 to 5 men as he was walking along the very northern end of The Strand.

As a result he received a deep cut to his mouth requiring stitches and had his wallet and its contents stolen.

The attackers were believed to be driving around town earlier in the night in a dark-coloured four door sedan.

Police are investigating and would like to hear from anyone that may have seen this group of men or the vehicle before or after the assault.

Please contact Detective Nicky Schrafft of the Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
