Man wanted for assault

Police are asking the public to report any sightings of a man wanted for serious assault on his female partner.

Daniel Minogue (pictured) aged 31, was last seen in Nelson on October 5 but has links to the Bay of Plenty District, in particular Taupo, Turangi and Rotorua.

He is described as Maori, approximately 176cm tall with dark hair.

Minogue is a known drug user and is believed to have a firearm in his possession so should not be approached.

He drives a distinctive black BMW but may well have access to other vehicles, including a grey two-door Nissan Pulsar.

It is also possible he is travelling with a male associate.

Any sightings of Minogue should be reported immediately to police by the 111 system.

Anyone who has any knowledge of Minogue's whereabouts is also asked to contact the nearest police station.
