Man killed in Pyes Pa Rd crash named
The man who died after a major crash on Pyes Pa Rd has been named.
He was Steven John Wilson, 46, years of Katikati.
Mr Wilson was the sole occupant of the Mitsubishi van which plowed into a rock face at the intersection of Pyes Pa Rd and Mangatoi Rd at 12.53pm yesterday.
Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion said he would like to thank the members of the public who stopped to help immediately after the crash.
Mr Campion said police enquiries were continuing and no further information about the cause of the crash could be given at this time.
