The TrustPower Tect Rescue Helicopter was called to Opotiki to help a 63-year old man with a medical condition.

Pilot Todd Dunham said the helicopter flew to Opotiki to meet an ambulance from Waihau Bay at 8.15pm yesterday.

The man was taken to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
