Music lovers looking for discounted ticket prices for Summerfest 2013 should keep a close eye on the festival's Facebook page, organisers say.

Cheap tickets to the music festival - which will be held in Mount Maunganui's Blake Park on Saturday, February 2 - were being sold outside the Beach Base at the Mount Main Beach yesterday.

Event organisers timed the sale of discounted tickets to coincide with a free performance by one of Summerfest's headline acts, Titanium.

The band began their Coca Cola Beach Summer Tour and will be back at the Mount, along with I am Giant, J Williams and 20 local bands, for Summerfest in February.

Creative Tauranga chief executive Tracey Rudduck-Gudsell said event organisers at the Beach Base had a good response from Titanium fans, with about 100 tickets sold yesterday.

Ms Rudduck-Gudsell said organisers hoped to match the success of last year's inaugural event.

"We had 11,500 people in 2012 and we'd like to match that in 2013 because that means the festival will keep coming back."
