Lawyers are being asked for their feedback on a new fixed fees system for providing legal aid.

The system would replace the current system where lawyers are paid hourly rates for criminal legal aid work.

The new system is one part of the Government's reforms designed to rein in rising legal aid costs.

Legal aid lawyers have until September 10 to submit their feedback to the Ministry of Justice.
