Police are looking for the owner of a ute seen stealing a large trailer.

Tauranga Bridge Marina manager Tony Arnold said he and other users of the marina were keeping a careful eye out for the ute.

"The driver of this distinctive ute had the gall to help himself to the 3 ton double axle trailer shown in the photograph," Mr Aronld said. "

The white double cab Izuzu or Holden came into the site on Sunday January 6 at 10.25am, hooked up to the trailer and exited our site 10.30am.

"The white cab has a bull bar on the front, the windows are quite dark, the rear tailgate left side is dented and it has distinctive wheels."

He is appealing for the offender to contact him on 575 8264 and return the trailer. If anyone has information about it they should call the Tauranga police on (07) 577 7770.
