Jogger hit by car
A woman is in Tauranga Hospital with serious head injuries after being hit by a car while out jogging this morning.
Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion said police and St John were called to the accident on Woodland Rd near Katikati about 7.30am today.
A 50-year old local woman was running on the rural road when she was hit by a car being driven by a 19-year-old, he said.
"She's struck the windscreen of the car and as a result has serious injuries."
Mr Campion said police had spoken to the driver of the vehicle and inquiries were continuing.
