Sentencing for James Alexander Cooper, of Tauranga, who robbed the owner of the Grange Road Dairy of $480 on July 2 while masked and armed with a pistol has been deferred.

Cooper, 18, appeared in Tauranga District Court on Tuesday for sentence on one charge of aggravated robbery and two unrelated charges of theft.

He also pleaded guilty to a shoplifting charge which relates to the theft of $199 logitech remote control from Dick Smith, Mount Maunganui on January 30.

Judge Louis Bidois adjourned sentencing until September 26.
