Bellevue Primary students vroomed and zoomed around their playing field in the fifth annual Bellevue 500.

The annual fundraising event sees pupils decorate cardboard boxes as their favourite make of car _ Holden, Ford, Nissan and more _ and race around the field aiming to complete 500 laps within an hour.

Tauranga City Councillor Murray Guy was involved and drove his speedway saloon racer on a lap around the course.

The fundraising event raised about $2,000 for the school.
