Fresh, exciting compact paper set to deliver

File

The Bay of Plenty Times has confirmed its intention to take its Monday to Friday newspaper to a morning compact, from March 4 next year.

The decision comes after consultation with staff, including delivery personnel, affected by the change. The new-look weekday paper will be convenient and easy to read and follow a worldwide newspaper trend of offering readers something new and exciting.

Research shows that readers prefer the compact size and the thicker newspaper means you will still be getting your money's worth. The paper will look and feel different. Right now we have a team of designers and journalists working on this project and we have been holding focus group sessions with local readers and key stakeholders.

We are looking at everything from our masthead to our content and the end product will be fresh and exciting.

And not only are we changing shape, we're coming to you earlier. Your new Bay of Plenty Times will be delivered by 6am. You'll be able to start your day with the latest in what is happening locally - local news, local business, local opinion and local sport, plus national and international news and features.

As a morning newspaper we'll be setting the local news agenda daily, while our advertisers will benefit because the paper is in the marketplace for a full day.

The Bay of Plenty Times Weekend will remain a broadsheet paper.

We welcome your views on how we can bring you the best possible paper, so please feel free to give us your feedback by emailing feedback@bayofplentytimes.co.nz
