One of the men alleged to have bashed and robbed two French tourists in Papamoa in July has plead guilty.

Bo-Tamati Rawiri, 25, from Ngaruawahia appeared in Tauranga District Court today for an electronically monitored bail application but instead plead guilty to the two aggravated robbery charges.

He was remanded in custody until his sentencing on December 5.

Alleged co-offender Che Bridger, 24, from Mount Maunganui is also in custody.

He is next due to appear in Tauranga District Court on November 29.
