French tourist attacker sentencing delayed

The sentencing of one of the French tourist attackers has been delayed until next year.

Bo-Tamati Rawiri was to be sentenced in the Tauranga District Court today but Judge Peter Rollo adjourned the matter until January 21 for futher information to be obtained from legal counsel.

Police say two French tourists were hitchhiking from Tauranga to Rotorua on the afternoon of July 7 when they were picked up, beaten and robbed.

Bo-Tamati Rawiri, 26, from Ngaruawahia plead guilty to aggravated robbery charges.
