Fire in Pyes Pa warehouse
Firefighters are battling a warehouse fire in rural Pyes Pa.
Tauranga and Greerton fire crews are at the scene - approximately 6km along Pyes Pa Rd, from Barkes Corner.
It is believed the building is a warehouse or a packhouse.
North communications shift manager Colin Underwood confirmed to the Bay of Plenty Times there was a fire in the building.
"There is fire. It's a smoke-logged building,'' he said.
He said smoke appeared to be coming from the roof of the building and the fire crews were attempting to put the fire out.
