Fatal crash on SH2 Papamoa
One person has died in a car crash on State Highway 2 between Bell Rd and Manoeka Rd.
Emergency services were called to the crash about 4.15pm today.
Police northern communications centre shift commander Inspector Cornell Kluessien said it was a head on crash involving two cars.
One person has died and one person is still trapped.
The fire service is working to free the person.
It is not known how many people were in the vehicles.
The road is closed and traffic is being diverted down Manoeka Rd and Welcome Bay Rd.
