Editorial: Website changes boost our links

By now you may be aware of some of the changes which have been made to our website www.rotoruadailypost.co.nz.

The relaunched website has been a long time in the making and we are pleased to finally show off all the work which has gone into the refreshed website.

A couple of years ago, when I first became involved with the management of the website it was essentially just an online repository for stories which featured in The Daily Post.

It has since grown and not only do we have fresh content uploaded throughout the day, we have polls, photo galleries and videos. Our readers can easily share their thoughts and opinions on stories.

This year we were also awarded Best Website at the APN Regional Media Awards.

Now with the refreshed site there is a lot more opportunity for the community to be involved with our website and our paper. The new site has a fresh design and feel and easy navigation, and all your favourite features will still be there.

Our new site will continue to provide local news updated throughout the day, but it will make it a whole lot easier for you to connect with our local community - and share stories that matter to you.

New sections will include "Things To Do" and "Your Community". Things To Do will feature local events and you will be able to place your event for free to spread the word to the community.

Your Community, with your help, will become the hub of the community. Here you will find all things local plus you can share your stories and opinions with the community with Your Story.

Our site is your site - and we know our relaunched site will become your new favourite site.

We're still committed to growing and improving the website, making it a must-visit website for anyone wanting the latest breaking news, local views, photo galleries, polls, videos and more.

If there is something which you would like to see on the website let us know, we would also like to hear your feedback about the new site. Send your comments and ideas to news@dailypost.co.nz.
